SANDALMAKING KIT - LEATHER SOLE + HEEL

$220.00

This kit has everything you need to make a pair of unique and long-lasting leather sandals. All the tools, materials, patterns and instructions.

Some of these items can be tricky to source or to buy in small quantities so its been a dream of mine to assemble a kit for the sandal and shoe-curious to use at home! This kit comes with several mix-n-match patterns, or you can use the patterns as guides to make up your own. The leather pieces included are large and you cut out your shapes so you can make them as specialized as you want. This pair of sandals takes about 6 hours to complete.

Includes:

  • Heavy footbed leather (you tell me approx size)

  • Medium weight leather for upper straps (about 2sq feet)

  • Large stiff leather outsoles, to be cut down to size (you tell me size)

  • Stacked leather heel blocks- 5/8th” tall

  • Heel nails

  • Round leather laces (about 60")

  • 2 screw-back studs w instructions

  • Leather hole punch

  • Scratch Awl

  • Utility knife w blade (refillable)

  • Shoe glue & brushes

  • Instruction booklet

  • link to 1-hr instructional video by me

  • 3 pages of patterns to use as starting-points

  • Leather pen

Does not include: Paper (for making variations of patterns), Scissors (for cutting paper, or leather- short, sharp scissors are best), Tape (I like any strong tape to secure the straps while adjusting fit), Hammer.

Also does not include: An electric table-sander to smooth the edges of the finished sandals. This can be ok because A) it IS possible to get a smooth edge by just using the sharp knife blade-- if that dosn’t go as well as you’d like, then B) bring your sandals to a local cobbler and ask to have the edges cleaned up. This may cost ~$20 and will establish a nice bond between you and your cobbler. lastly, C) buy (or borrow) a table-top belt-sander for approx $100 and make sandals forever!

++a pop up window will ask what color UPPERS: Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Black, Royal Blue, Rust, Natural Veg Tan, Baby Blue, Grey

and what color FOOTBED (natural, black, med brown, dark brown, red, or blue)++
